North Andover, Mass., June 18, 2026 – The North Andover Historical Society (NAHS) is happy to announce a wide variety of programming this summer. Programs range from kids' summer camps to sci-fi movies in the theater to a discussion on the Revolution. All events are held at the NAHS Stevens Center museum, located at 800 Massachusetts Avenue in North Andover, unless otherwise noted. Registration is required and can be found on our website: www.NorthAndoverHistoricalSociety.org. Programs cost $5 for NAHS members, and $15 for non-members, unless otherwise indicated; camps have a different pricing structure listed on our website.


Summer Camp Week: Celebrating America's Birthday
Mon, Jun 29, to Fri, Jul 3, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Celebrate America's Birthday with historical games and sports, such as stick and hoop races, along with colonial music, handy crafts, and educational movies and programs. Parents are required to provide water, snacks, and lunch for their children. Class size maximum will be 20 students. This program is for children in 3rd grade and older.


Garden Party Open House at the Parson Barnard House Museum
Saturday, July 4, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Please note the special timing for this.)
Parson Barnard House Museum is located at 179 Osgood Street in North Andover
Join us in celebrating America’s birthday at this special Garden Party Open House. In addition to the Garden Party, we will host free tours of this colonial and revolutionary-period house museum. The Parson Barnard House Museum will be open the first Saturday of every month until October.


Monster Movie Roulette: Sci-Fi July with VCR2
Friday, July 10 and 24, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
At this special Sci-Fi in July movie showing, we won’t know what we’re watching until a lucky audience member spins a wheel bearing six classic Universal monster movies. Wherever it lands determines what we watch that night! In partnership with Salem Horror Film Festival organizers, VCR2.

will talk on the lesser-known events of the months after Lexington and Concord to tell a broader story about the early months of the American Revolution

March to Revolution: Lesser-known Stories from 1775-1776 with Dr. Abby Chandler
Tuesday, July 14, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Battles of Lexington and Concord are well known as "the shot heard round the world", but have you ever heard of the Battle of Moore's Creek? Or the Revolutionary War connection between Fort Ticonderoga in upstate New York and Dorchester Heights in Boston? Or the Mecklenburg Resolves? This talk focuses on lesser-known events from the months after Lexington and Concord to tell a broader story about the early months of the American Revolution.


Introduction To Playwriting: Summer Course
Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Geared toward students 9th grade and older, this course will teach you the basics of playwriting. Taught by Dr. Bob Kellan, a successful playwright, the students will focus on developing character and story as they produce their own one-act, 10-minute long plays to be read by real actors before a live audience.
