NORTH ANDOVER HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS GROWING
North Andover, Mass., May 11, 2026 – The North Andover Historical Society (NAHS) is pleased to announce the addition of two new team members, Marie Costello as Curator in May, and Lisa Roberts, as Marketing Coordinator, in January. Both will support the organization’s mission of seeking, preserving and sharing North Andover history.
“We are excited to welcome both Marie and Lisa to our team,” says Joanna Kerr, Executive Director of NAHS. “Both bring their unique talents and a great deal of experience to our growing organization as we fill our expanded role as the repository of local history in our new headquarters, the Stevens Center museum.”
Marie Costello, Curator, joins the team as curator to oversee the development and evolution of new exhibits at the Stevens Center and NAHS’ historic house museums.
Marie Costello joins the team as curator to oversee the development and evolution of new exhibits at the Stevens Center and NAHS’ historic house museums. Additionally, Marie will also be responsible for the physical and intellectual care, preservation and documentation of their three-dimensional object collections, ensuring that historical artifacts are accessible to the public.
Costello comes to NAHS with an extensive multi-decade background in collections management, conservation and exhibit curation, including Curator of Permanent Collections at Union College’s Mandeville Gallery and Director of the Robert Lehman Art Center at Brooks School in North Andover, where she was responsible for producing five exhibits per year. Marie has curated over 50 exhibits and her curatorial projects focus on cross-cultural influences and changes in perception over time. Her experience and insights are going to be instrumental in the design of NAHS’s new West Wing exhibits, launching later in 2026.
Lisa Roberts, Marketing Coordinator, will oversee the marketing and communications strategy for the North Andover Historical Society.
Lisa Roberts will oversee the marketing and communications strategy for NAHS. In this role, Roberts will focus on expanding NAHS’ visibility through social media, media and public relations, branding and digital storytelling that will support the promotion of events, exhibits, education and preservation efforts. She brings nearly 30 years of experience in marketing, advertising, and public relations, with work spanning organizations such as BBG New Media, W.R. Grace & Co., Mahoney’s Garden Centers, and Clarks International. In addition to her corporate experience, she spent several years as a stay-at-home mom while running a successful part-time consulting business, combining her photography and marketing expertise to support small businesses. Lisa has written for a range of publications, including People, Places and Plants, the North Andover Citizen, and the Andover Townsman.
In addition to her role at NAHS, Roberts currently teaches at Northern Essex Community College and sits on the Old Center Historic District Commission in North Andover. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication, with a focus on advertising, from Salem State University, and a Master of Science in Mass Communication from Boston University.
