An Evening with Seth Moulton: Reflections on Veterans Day

  • North Andover Historical Society 800 Massachusetts Ave. North Andover United States (map)

This event is brought to us in coordination with the Harvard Club of The Merrimack Valley and the North Andover Historical Society.

Congressman Seth Moulton is a Democrat from Massachusetts who ran because he saw the consequences of failed leadership in Washington serving four tours in Iraq as a Marine infantry officer. He currently serves on the Armed Services Committee, where he is the senior Democrat in charge of everything space and nuclear; on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, where he focuses on high-speed rail; and on the Select Committee on China. No House or Senate office has won more Democracy Awards from the Congressional Management Foundation than his team.

Since becoming one of the very first sitting Members of Congress to discuss a personal mental health issue, when he disclosed dealing with post-traumatic stress from the war, he has also passed mental health legislation to include the bill that established 988. He founded Serve America to recruit and support national service veterans to run for office, which accounted for more than half the seats Democrats flipped to take back the House in 2018. In 2024, when Democrats lost across the board, Serve America’s win rate was 89% in some of the most difficult seats in the country. Seth earned degrees in physics, business, and public administration from Harvard, and he lives in Salem, Massachusetts.
