The Society collects in order to preserve the story of North Andover for use in research, educational programs, and exhibits from the 17th through 20th centuries. Our collections database has over 11,000 records about artifacts, photos, archives, and books.

The first story is from a deposition given by an unwed mother concerning the paternity of her child, dated 1737. The town was very concerned with such matters, not so much to punish the offenders but to establish financial responsibility for a child which might become a burden to taxpayers.

valentine's Collection Video

The North Andover Historical Society has a collection of Civil War era Valentine Cards.  The card collection also includes children's cards from the 1930s and 1940s. Carol Majahad, Executive Director highlights the contents of this unique collection.
