Adult and Family Programs

Ongoing Lecture Series

The yearly lecture program is a mix of presentations by members of the Historical Society and local residents based on their own on-going historical research and scholars who will discuss various topics of general interest. These lectures are open to members and the general public. Past topics have included the witchcraft trials of 1692, First Period Houses, and the Tavern Acres historic district.

Other Programs

The North Andover Historical Society offers a variety of activities throughout the year. These include the annual Trails and Sails walking tour, Harvest Day Festival, and the Holiday Open House. Other programs can include bus and walking tours based on the architectural history of the town.

The North Andover Historical Society has a limited number of spaces left in their summer enrichment program, Adventures in Time. The first week, "Working in Time", held July 7 through July 11, has 3 spaces open and features field trips to the Andover Historical Society and the Wenham Museum and will provide a chance to try out different trades and vocations.

The second week, "Our Bright New Age", a look at the years between the World Wars, is scheduled for August 4 through August 8, and has two openings and includes visits to the Lawrence Heritage State Park and the Larz Anderson Auto Museum..


The fee: $140 a week, $250 for two weeks.
North Andover Historical Society members receive a 20% discount.
Second child receives a 10% discount.


Funding for this program has been provided in part from the Summer Fund of Greater Lawrence and the Brown Family Foundation.
