A Summer Program for Boys and Girls  


Adventures in times focuses on a different theme and time period in history during its one-week session during August. Up to twelve participants spend five days between 9:30 to 2:30 to experience first hand different aspects of life during the development of the American nation through a variety of traditional crafts and trades. 

Several field trips to historic sites in and around the area give the children a chance to explore the history of the entire region. Children can sign up for one or both weeks.


This August, the North Andover Historical Society will once again present its popular summer enrichment program – Adventures in Time. Your children will explore history with hands on activities, exciting field trips and a healthy dose of learning. 

This program is made possible in large part thanks to the continuing support of the Brown Family Fund and gift from Fidelity Foundations's donor advised fund.

Dawn of the Modern Age:  August 7-11

The Modern Age began as a time of great hope and new discoveries and inventions.  The automobile alone gave rise to a new wave of tourism and made many changes in the lives of New Englanders.  It was the age of large size world’s fairs and the introduction of many foods that are a favorite today.  We will learn about and sew a felt Teddy bear, and create a board game as we explore childhood in the early 20th century.  Visits to the Wenham and the Buttonwoods Museums are planned. We will end the week with a Modern Age New Foods party.

Session Two:  Monday – Friday 
9:30 am – 2:30 pm
Non-refundable registration fee: $25 per child

Program Cost per child:
$160 
$30 a day if space is available. (NAHS members $25)

NA Historical Society Family members receive 20% discount

Second child receives 10% discount

Supervised & allergy conscious lunch period
(Child must bring their own food)

Suggested ages 7-13

Space is limited to 12 children per session. In order to ensure a registration, a non-refundable deposit of $25 per child per session must be received with the form.  

Payment in full must be received by Monday, July 21, 2017. Make all checks payable to North Andover Historical Society in U.S. funds.

Limited scholarships are available.
